In short: to manage rental bookings, this app stores your customers' names and email addresses from orders in a booking ledger. We use them only to track who returns what and when, and to send return-date reminders. We never use them for anything else, and we never sell or share them.

1. Who we are

Rental Radar ("the app") is built and operated by Michiakari, a trade name of CREDO LLC (Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan). Contact: michiakari.office@gmail.com

2. Data we access

When you install the app, Shopify grants us these read-only permissions:

read_products — product and variant names and IDs, so you can choose rental products and see product names on bookings
read_orders — the items, quantities and rental start dates in orders, and the customer's name and email address, so bookings are created automatically and customers can be reminded of their return date

We do not store addresses, phone numbers or payment information. When you download a shipping-label CSV (Pro plan), the app reads the shipping address and phone number of the selected orders from Shopify at that moment, writes them into the file you download, and discards them. They are never saved to our database or logs.

3. Data we store

Your store domain and the access token issued by Shopify
IDs and names of the products and variants you set as rentals, units available, and rental lengths
Booking ledger: order number, product, start date and return date, quantity, status, and the customer's name and email address
Settings: preparation days, cleaning days, closed days, and your alert email address
A log of notifications sent, so the same notice is never sent twice

4. Where data is kept and how it is protected

Data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database (Singapore region), and all traffic uses TLS. Webhooks from Shopify are verified with HMAC signatures. Access tokens are kept on the server only and never sent to the browser. Database access is limited to one operator, and server access logs are kept. If we detect a data breach or unauthorized access, we will email affected stores within 72 hours with the cause and the measures taken.

5. Sharing

We never sell, rent or trade your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (hosting, database, email delivery). Emails are sent through Resend, which receives the recipient and message only to deliver it.

6. Retention and deletion

The booking ledger is kept while you use the app. Customer names and email addresses are erased automatically 400 days after a rental is returned (only the booking count remains). When you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us, and all data for your store is deleted when the shop/redact request arrives 48 hours later. When a customer asks to be deleted (customers/redact), we erase the name and email on their bookings. Data access requests (customers/data_request) are handled through the store.

7. Cookies

We use only the session cookies needed to keep you signed in inside the Shopify admin. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date on this page and, where needed, let you know in the app.
